FIINN FUHL SIDEBOARD | PLATINUM REPLICA
Walnut, Blue and White
Throughout his career, Finn Juhl was preoccupied with shapes and colours and maintained a lifelong passion for surrealist and cubist art. Finn Juhl was one of the pioneers with adding colour as an active element in space, furniture and textiles. This he did with a rare confidence so that his arrangements appear with great sensuality as a coherent whole.
The FJ sideboard, with its coloured sliding doors and trays was designed by Finn Juhl in 1955. With obvious cubist influence, the cabinet seems to float on a delicate steel frame which has wood feet. The colour elements reflected his fascination with Goethe’s famous colour circle, which placed the colours in a harmonious cohesion.
A beautifully simple sideboard that brings together elements of wood, steel and colors from the Geotehe’s color wheel. This Finn Juhl credenzacan be closed to contain items as well as left playfully open to reveal the beautiful color array of the drawers.
